Bad Travel Newsletter

written by M.E. Evans June 18, 2023

Change is here. But first!

Before we get into it, I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for supporting Surviving In Italy for these past ten years, for buying my book, Naked, and making it a bestseller, and for making me feel like I have a supportive and wonderful community of folks around the world. With that being said, my life has changed, and the internet has changed, and in order to keep up with the times, I have to change, too.

Blogging is expensive. But I love it. So I had to find a new way to share my stories without breaking the bank. An influencer friend of mine told me to try a newsletter subscription, and after looking it over, panicking, drinking wine, and panicking, then taking an anxiety med, and still panicking, I made the decision to essentially move what I do here, to substack. I’m not going to delete this blog but I will be cleaning it up and updating the design a bit.

What will that look like? Well, for those of you who want to get a paid subscription for full access to all of the things, you can. For those of you who can’t do that right now or simply don’t want to, you can still subscribe to view content for free for a limited time after it’s published.

If you’d like to continue to follow my travel journey, I would absolutely love it if you’d sign up on Substack to receive a newsletter every two weeks. What will be in this newsletter, you ask?

  • I’m blogging a book about all of the Bad Travel experiences I’ve had (and man are there A LOT).
  • I’m also blogging a book about moving abroad for school. It’s not the story of meeting my husband and in-laws, it’s about friendship, wild nights, hospital visits, weird professors, and mental illness. So, it will be funny and tragic as per usual.
  • The best travel tips and hacks
  • Travel inspo and culture highlights from around the world (because who doesn’t love to learn about other cultures and see all of the amazing reasons to visit a place?
  • Me making an ass out of myself. As usual.

For paid subscribers, you’ll also get access to videos, personalized things like signed book copies, lives, and other fun perks.

Please subscribe either for a free subscription or a paid subscription. I will love you forever. And Ever. (heavy breathing) AND EVER.

See you on the other side!
